About Us

We hear people say, "Bethel Family Church is a real come as your are type of church." Some are on a pathway to healing or restoration, others are just beginning their walk with God. Still others have taken a the rough path of and are fell welcomed to get connected. In all everyone is seeking God on some level of their lives. So, if you are just now starting to walk with God, coming back to a community of faith, or re-investigating previous held beliefs, you can come as you are and can connect with people who are on a similar journey.

You will see people from various ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds. You will see people of senior adults, youth, and middle aged people serving in all areas of the church. In all there is a place for you, and there are many places to connect.

We believe Church is not about sitting, watching, and consuming services, but we believe that church is about people using their God given gifts, talents, and abilities to strengthen, encourage, and build the church and others. We all bring something!

Our worship service is designed so that each person is free to engage God in worship. Our worship team is not going to entertain you, but encourage you to express your heart toward God because we know that in times of worship our hearts are open to God and He is faithful to direct, confirm, and speak to our hearts as we focus on Him.

Brief History:

One of the last things I wanted to do was ‘start a church’ especially in my home town. On top of this we knew too much about both big and small ministries and we were content to be a missionary and mobilize people who wanted to GO with God. It took some time, but God confirmed our direction to begin a new church in Sedalia. In the process we connected with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (see video below) and began planting the process of beginning Bethel Family Church.   We began having bibles studies in our home, with up to 15 people, and began doing various things to help people in the community. Eventually we decided to find a building to begin having services, unfortunately we started during right in the middle of the Missouri State Fair,  horrible decision, but God has been faithful through it all!

We invite you to be our guest!

  • Pastor

Pastor Billy Foster was born and raised in Sedalia, Missouri and he is a 2007 Missiology graduate of Regent University. In 2000 he pursued pastoral training in Oklahoma, and it was there that he met and later married his wife Chaunta. Upon graduation from Bible School, Billy spent three months in Peru as a missionary. Since then he has traveled to Brazil and Spain for mission work.  Since arriving in Sedalia he has served and continues to partner and serve on various boards in the community.  He also Pastor Billy also serves in various capacities within the Gateway District of Foursquare Churches.

Billy believes that believers have a part to play in the work of the ministry according to the things God has placed within them.  He desires to mobilize and equip believers for the work of the ministry and believes that the local church is God’s sleeping giant, that when awakened, will show God’s heart to the world and properly represent the work of the kingdom in the U.S. and other parts of the world.

  • Worship

We believe that as we turn our hearts to God that we readily receive direction, healing, peace, and direction.  We've established our time of worship as a time for everyone to jump in and connect with God.   We have people from different  backgrounds and  and there is "space' for everyone to express their hearts to God.

  • Bethel Kids

We have a great team of people who are serving our Kids!!!

Every Lesson is excellent and teaches kids many meaningful lessons. Once the kids are dismissed from the adult service, they have their own time of singing followed by their lesson for the day.

Parents pages are given to the kids so that they will know what was taught that Sunday.

  • J12

The testimony of Jesus at 12 is is the template on how to reach a generation. Jesus spoke 7 words at the age of twelve and our heart, belief, and passion is for tweens to live those same 7 words today. J12 is much more about creating a culture to thrive and much less about providing programming to continue their boredom. If tweens get the 7 words of Jesus in their spirit, they will not need programming to live like Jesus, but will instead live like Jesus because of their love for the Father and His business. “I Must” is an interactive series with Gregg Johnson, the Founder of J12, and “The Dude” (an original cartoon tween). In this series, Gregg and “The Dude” highlight the 7 powerful words Jesus spoke when He was 12 years old. When Jesus was 12 He said, "I must be about My Father's business" (Luke 2:49 NKJV). Gregg Johnson and the “The Dude” teach the lessons and give you time to discuss topics they suggest along the way. Each week there is a teaching, review, game, and small group discussion time all hosted by characters on the video curriculum. The kids will be dismissed to J12 from the main service.

What/who is foursquare?

OUr Beliefs

We teach and seek to walk out biblical truths in our daily lives. We are a Foursquare Gospel Church. What is that? To put it simply, we are followers of Christ and believe four central things about Christ. We believe that He is our Savior, Our Healer, Our Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Our Soon-Coming King.

The term "Foursquare Gospel" came about during an intense revival in the city of Oakland, Calif., in July 1922. To a crowd of thousands, Aimee Semple McPherson explained Ezekiel's vision in the book of Ezekiel, chapter one. Ezekiel saw God revealed as a being with four different faces: a man, a lion, an ox and an eagle. To Sister Aimee, those four faces were like the four phases of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the face of the man, she saw Jesus our Savior. In the face of the lion, she saw Jesus the mighty Baptizer with the Holy Spirit and fire. In the face of the ox, she saw Jesus the Great Burden-Bearer, who took our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. In the face of the eagle, she saw Jesus the Coming King, who will return in power and victory for the church. It was a perfect, complete Gospel.

It was a Gospel that faces squarely in every direction; it was the “Foursquare Gospel.” The four symbols perhaps most identified with Foursquare today are the cross, cup, dove and crown which stand for Jesus the Savior, Jesus the Healer, Jesus the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Jesus the Soon-Coming King, respectively.

Foursquare started in revival that later developed into a denomination to help facilitate the mission of sharing Christ in the world and working inter-denominationally with other who believe and exalt Jesus as Lord.
